BRIT School examination
success 2008 continues yet again
The BRIT School’s exam results at
KS4 and Post 16 are again outstanding. At KS4 99% of students
achieved 5 A* - C grades in their GCSEs and equivalent
qualifications. 99% of students achieved 5 A* - Gs. 64%
achieved 5+A*-C’s including English and maths, up
from 54% in 2007. The average point score is 577.
All students took the BTEC First Diploma
(equalling 4 GCSEs at A*-C) in their chosen arts area
and 100% successfully completed the course. 100% achieved
a Merit or Distinction, with 89% as Distinctions including
72% D*.
The mathematics results continue in their
upward trend with 68% achieving an A* to C grade compared
to 54% last year. 87% of students achieved an A* - C grade
in English compared to 82% in 2007.
Post 16 students also achieved exceptional
results this year. All students study for the BTEC National
Diploma, which is equivalent to 3 A- levels. 98% of all
grades were at Merit or Distinction with 85% at Distinction.
A significant number of students also take
A levels alongside their vocational qualifications. 90%
of students achieved at grade A – C in their A2
qualifications, with 99% of all students achieving a pass.
The average point score at Post 16 is 347.
There are a number of individual students
who have achieved at the highest level in all their qualifications.
Of particular note is Nicola Wright who achieved 3 Distinctions
in her Performing Arts (Acting) BTEC National Diploma,
as well as A grades in A Level English Literature and
History. Nicola said: ‘I am really delighted with
my results and am so grateful for the opportunities I
received at the school.’
At KS4 Lily Desau achieved 14.5 A* - C grades
at GCSE or equivalent, including 11.5 grades A* or A.
As a result of these achievements the great
majority of our students are continuing to Post 16 education,
progressing to Higher Education or gaining employment
in the creative industries.
