Facilities

There is a fully equipped brand new workshop space with electrical and hand tools alongside a dedicated plastics centre providing the facilities required for a wide range of designing and making practices. Alongside the practical room there is access to fully equipped ict suites with the appropriate software including Adobe Creative Suite, Maya and 3D Studio Max

Projects are developed from initial concept to outcome with opportunities for students to exhibit their work in and around the school, including a yearly showcase and external shows that can be arranged within the wider community.

All projects are developed through the use of a range of research and documentation processes exploring practical concepts and ideas as well as taking inspiration from other design areas and an understanding of the historical significance of design development.

To support their development trips and visits to museums and vocational workplaces are undertaken over the duration of the course as well as a period of work experience.
