This is an exciting new two-year course designed for post 16 students. The BTEC Extended Diploma in Interactive Media (equivalent to 3 A Levels) introduces students to the design and study of computer games, mobile devices and technologies including app design, web design, online television and radio, 3D animation and environments, magazine design for the iPad and television graphics and idents. Students will also undertake work experience placements to help facilitate knowledge of the Interactive Media industry.
They will study the impact of technology and the rise of social media such as Facebook, Twitter, blogging and YouTube. On completion of the course students are able to either progress straight into the Interactive Media industry including gaming, web and graphic design, online publishing, broadcast and television production or into higher education at University to study a wide range of courses including interactive media at degree level or specialise in a range of courses including games design, web and graphic design, computer programming, motion graphics and animation.
