About Jack

Jack began teaching at 15 when he was invited to deliver a series of weekend workshops at The London Music School, exploring modern electric guitar technique as well as some, at the time, unique concepts around improvisation. He continued to build his teaching practice alongside his studies at The Brit School, of which he is a proud alumni, then going on to graduate from I.C.M.P. with a degree in music performance. His relationship with the London Music School continued to develop, going on to become their head of guitar as well as running several masterclasses and independent courses on guitar, bass, piano, composition, harmony and theory and workshops on mental well being in the music industry.

Alongside teaching, Jack is an active gigging musician, primarily performing with original acts that have unique genre requirements. Jack performed with regularly and toured with the genre-bending Fjokra and Annie Bea for several years as well as running his own genre-swap project Sad Clown. He can be seen gigging all over the UK as a session musician in the genres of blues, jazz, country, folk, fusion and rock/pop in various roles including musical director, guitar, keyboards, bass and percussion.

With a huge passion for songwriting, Jack is the primary song-writer in his own band Sad Clown as well as several other projects due for launch in 2024. Working regularly as co-writer and producer for many original artists as part of production teams that have had tracks featured on the BBC and ITV.

With over 15 years teaching experience, Jack teaches with a high priority for customising classes around the true needs, interests and goals of students. Whether to improve technically, explore new creative outlets, build a career in the industry or simply have fun and enjoy a new hobby.
