James Moriarty

James Moriarty

James is a former graduate of GSA and worked as an actor for several years in the West End. He has worked as an MD and composer for over 10 years, including extensive national tours of Barnum, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and the Canterville Ghost, several summer seasons in Norfolk as well as over a dozen pantomimes in and around London.

As a composer he has worked at Shakespeare’s Globe and The Gate Theatre and has written song settings for several Shakespeare plays, Greek comedies and numerous children’s classics. He has also composed numerous television credits including the BBC’s Arena series and on radio he has performed and musically directed classic serialisations such as the BBC’s Mill On The Floss and Middlemarch.

James regularly teaches at GSA and has MD’d numerous shows there, most recently Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party.
