Alumni nominated for 'Women of the Future Award'
Now in their tenth year, the 'Women of the Future Awards' continue to unearth and recognise the inspirational stars of tomorrow, one being BRIT graduate Kizzy Horgan.
The Women of the Future Awards have been celebrating successful young women since 2005. Previous winners include: Dawn O’Porter and Thea Green, Founder of Nails Inc. Previous attendees include, HRH The Princess Royal, Cherie Blair, HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan and Miriam González Durántez.
The 'Young Star' award is the youngest category at this year's 'Women of the Future Awards'. This award acknowledges high achievers aged 16-21 who are showing exceptional promise within their industry, university or school. Previous winner of this award was Eliza Rebeiro, founder of the charity 'Lives not Knives'.
After an extensive application Kizzy has been shortlisted and is due to attend an interview with the judges ahead of the awards in October. The award ceremony will be at The Hilton Hotel, Park Lane with dinner surrounded by today's most influential women all nominated for awards in a diverse range of categories.
As part of being shortlisted, Kizzy was also joined to the 'Women of the Future Network' and invited to attend the annual summits and events throughout the year. After graduating the Community Arts Practice strand, Kizzy hopes that by being part of this network, she will be able to take steps towards achieving her goals for the future. Kizzy's ambition is to use her passion and skills within the performing arts, in order to work with charities and organisations such as; Cancer Research UK, The Alzheimer's Society, and Mind Mental Health Charity, delivering therapeutic and rehabilitation theatre workshops to individuals and their families to deal with difficult and trying circumstances.
We wish Kizzy the best of luck on 27 October 2015.
