Technical Theatre Arts
We offer excellent learning opportunities that not only equip students with the skills to pursue a career within the performing arts industry but also give them the foundation for higher education and training. Our philosophy is very much ‘hands on’ and the learning is delivered through a largely realistic working environment where students take part in practical exercises, simulated work environments and fulfilling technical roles on theatre productions in the schools theatres.
The course teaches technical, creative and management skills and places an emphasis on students obtaining as wide a range of skills and experience as possible. Teaching staff have a professional background in the industry and the school has superbly equipped theatres, studio spaces and workshops. We maintain strong links and partnerships within the industry and are sponsored by many leading companies such as PRG, Britannia Row and Function One.
Many students are successfully pursuing careers within the industry such as BBC, PRG XL Video, Whitelight, Endemol, Britannia Row and Unusual Rigging or go on to Higher Education courses at colleges or universities such as Guildhall, Royal Welsh College, Rose Bruford, RADA and Nottingham Trent.
"As a graduate, I have no hesitation in recommending to any prospective students interested in Technical Theatre that the TTA course will be two of the best and most rewarding years of your early career and a solid training platform to start you career with."
