    Welcome Back to BRIT Now!

We're starting the new school year with work from our student community on the theme of Kindness. Being Kind is one of the core values of what it means to be a BRIT student.

Since the start of lockdown, BRIT Now has celebrated the work of our incredibly talented and creative student community.

Lets start as we mean to go on, by showing that being kind to one another is how we'll change the world.

Am I too late (by Emmie Avery) Music Video by Rani Mason Year 11

    That's Kindness - Lottie Bracken-Kemish Year 12

What counts as kindness, can it even be defined?
How to know, how to see, how to hear, how to find!
You can often feel down and feel that it’s non-existent
But ask others about it and it won’t feel so distant.
It’s your friend waiting outside for you in the rain
Because they know that you’re hurting
and they know that you’re in pain
    That’s kindness.
It’s the little things all around us,
    the little things people do
    Deciding to help others
even when it doesn’t benefit you
    That’s kindness.
It’s helping carry heavy bags to the top of the hill
Stumbling under the weight of them,
    yet you help them still
    That’s kindness.
It’s doing the right thing when no one’s around
    Expecting no recognition
because it’s not meant to astound
    That’s kindness.
It’s driving 10 hours to see your sick friend
Because they need someone to listen
and you have an ear to lend
    That’s kindness.
It’s an act from the heart that comes in many forms
    Putting others first
and fighting with them through their storms
    That’s kindness.
    It’s looking after yourself
    and making sure you’re okay
Saying it’s alright to make mistakes
if you learn for another day
    That’s kindness.
Kindness is everywhere, if you know where to look
On the street, in a dance, in a voice, in a book!
You can always add more with everything that you do
So go make a difference, by just being you.

"Kindness isn’t always warm fuzzy feelings. Sometimes, kindness is getting over yourself and giving up your need to be validated.  Sometimes kindness hurts; it’s crying with someone while their world falls apart, letting them know that you’re there for the ride, for as long as it takes."
