Filling in the Application Form

Use the following notes to help you complete each section of the form in full. 

Please ensure you are applying for the correct year.  You should apply for Year 10 the September you begin Year 9 in your current school.  You should apply for Year 12 the September you begin Year 11 in your current school.  You should select the relevant application form/year.  For example, if you want to apply for Year 10 Dance, select the Year 10 – Dance application form.

You will not be able to save the application form and return to it at a later date, it must be completed in one sitting.  If, after you submit an application form you wish to change any of the information, you will need to contact student services and request we delete your form.  You will then need to start the application process again.

When opening the application form, please click on 'Add New Applicant'

Applicant’s personal details

Please ensure you complete this section fully and check the information you provide is correct.  We will need the correct details to be able to contact you in relation to your application.  A telephone number and email address are vital, as we may need to call or email you information relating to auditions or interviews.  Email is our preferred method of communication.  We cannot be held responsible for missed auditions/meetings due to incorrect information supplied.

Details of Special Educational Needs

If you have, any support needs please give details here.  This will help us to make appropriate arrangements to ensure that you are able to fully access the admissions process at all stages.

Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP)

If you have an Educational Health Care Plan please give details here.  Will require a copy of the plan along with a copy of the latest review.  You will be given an opportunity to attach this at the end of the application form, alternatively, you can email this to

Disability or medical conditions/reasonable adjustments

If this applies to you, please let us know so that we can ensure that appropriate arrangements can be put in place to support your application at every stage of the process.

Monitoring information

As with all other information on the application form, the detail you provide here is held in the strictest confidence and is intended to ensure that we are meeting the needs of, and attracting applications from, all sections of the community.  Of particular importance is the question on eligibility for Free School Meals, as successful eligible applicants will be entitled to continue to receive this and we need to be able to plan our provision for this in advance.

For ease of viewing it may be easier for you to complete the questions in a word document and then copy and paste the answers into the relevant question box.


Consent will only be applied if you are offered and accept a place at The BRIT School.  Please leave blank the tick boxes for any criteria you do NOT give consent to.


The declaration is required from both applicant and parent.

Attachments - Reports

Please note, only one document can be uploaded to each section.

If applying for Year 10 you should upload a copy of your Year 8 report, this should contain attendance
If applying for Year 12 you should upload a copy of your Year 10 report, this should contain attendance
If applying to repeat Year 12 you should upload a copy of your Year 11 report, this should contain attendance.  Any non-UK/EEA residents should supply a translated report, which must contain attendance

Supporting Documents

Upload any supporting documentation, alternatively you may email any supplementary information to  or post to Student Services, The BRIT School, 60 The Crescent, CR0 2HN Please do not send any original documents in the post as we are unable to return them.

Click on the Save icon.  If the page will not save please check that all mandatory fields have been completed, the incomplete mandatory field will be highlighted in red with an error message “This is a required field”.

At this point, you are able to edit any information you have already supplied if you so wish.

Parent Details

Please ensure that the information you provide is correct, the address and email address in particular.  We cannot be held responsible for missed auditions/meetings due to incorrect information supplied.


The address supplied in this section should be the address the applicant is living at the time of application and not where they will be living should they be offered a place.

Please select 'Submit Application', if you do not wish to add an additional contact.

What happens next?

We will confirm receipt of the completed application form and supporting documentation by email – the email will also contain your application reference number, which you will need to quote in any correspondence with us.  Interview and auditions will take place between December 2020 and April 2021.
