Mock Seasons
The BRIT School’s academic calendar allows for:
- Year 11 and Post 16 Pathways Mock Season in the first two weeks of January annually. In 2023-24 the Mock season will begin on the 15th December 2023 and end on the 12th January 2024 for written exams and practicals. MFL French and Spanish speaking assessments will take place in Term 3 week 3, 15th - 19th January 2024.
- One day of year 10 English and Maths Mocks in February.
- A Year 10 Mock Season in June 24th June -27th June 2024.
The Mock Seasons cover written exam content only for GCSE Options and Core Subjects. In Year 11 mocks, only if time allows, will we schedule a practical assessment for GCSE Textiles, Art Option, Photography Options, in the January Mocks, the work created will be used for students' portfolios.
There are no mocks for vocational UAL, RSL, or BTEC qualifications in the Year 11 or 10 mocks seasons. The Live RSL and BTEC external assessments will begin in January 2024 and these will be given protected time in the December/ January Mock timetable for delivery of the live assessments. These are mandatory sessions all students for that option/strand must attend.
Protected time for Year 11 Music Technology option RSL assessment and for Year 11 Graphic Design option NCFE external assessments prep is on the 8th January, 9am -11am.
Protected time for Year 11 RSL Theatre strand/ Dance strand/ Musical Theatre strand/ Music strand for year 11 4th January, from 12:15pm -16:15pm and 8th January, 11:15am - 13:15pm.
Protected time for Year 11 NCFE IDD strand, 4th January, from 12:15pm -16:15pm and 8th January, 11:15am - 13:15pm.
Protected time for Year 11 BTEC VAD and FMP strands, 4th January, from 12:15pm -16:15pm and 8th January, 11:15am - 13:15pm.
Candidates are required to bring their own equipment, such as black pens, pencils, calculators, and geometry equipment for all relevant examinations. The Exams Team recommend students also bring water in a clear unlabelled bottle for all exams. Highlighters are not allowed to be used in answers but maybe used for source booklets and inserts.
UPDATES:
The Year 11 and Post 16 Pathway Exam season will be in Term 2 week 6 (15th December 2023- 12th January 2024), for Post 16 pathways and GCSE core and option subjects only where the qualification has written exams.

Individual timetables, rooming and seating will be communicated home in term 2, handed out in tutor time. The rooming and seating will also be available to view on the isams student app.
Please note that Year 11 students are required in on for the time of their mocks, and for the identified selected strand lessons, for the Live External Assessments. If they have no exams timetabled, they should be at home revising. Students must leave site after an exam has been completed.
